L'Aviva Home

Oh L'Aviva Home, how wonderful you are! What a fabulous idea to create a series of curated online trunk shows! It's been a dream of mine to have a gallery/cafe with revolving shows showcasing talents (artists, chefs, designers) from around the world, so mad respect goes out to them! L'Aviva says it perfectly..."the things we surround ourselves with should possess a soul, a history, and a purpose beyond mere decoration: they should help us connect to the world." Currently on show is Textile and Object and I am in love with their selection.

kantha pillows from India made from layers of vintage cotton saris

mexican bedspreads crafted by the otomi indians
from the mountains of the mexican state of hidalgo. I would love to have one of these!!!

turkish hamman towels are luxurious, large, and absorbent and perfect for the beach!

bolivian rosewood is created by using stumps and branches left behind in well-managed forests, artisans in santa cruz take inspiration from the natural shapes of the rosewood.

bolivian aguayos are worn by aymara + quechua women to carry their babies and personal goods. Made of 100% sheeps wool!

michoacan platters are handpainted and feature traditional floral motifs. Oooohhh these are gorgeous and they come in a stunning cornflower blue!
