My Photos on Tumblr

I have a great camera that I don't use or know how to use nearly as much or as good as I should. I started a little series earlier in the year, well at least I have a dusty folder on my computer, called Sunday Morning Walks. So rather than letting these photos collect even more dust in my folders I decided to start posting them on my Tumblr site, which had also been collecting loads of dust. Hopefully this will also inspire me to get out and photograph more and maybe one day I can stop saying, "I have a camera, but I really suck at using it!" Venice Beach is such a colorful, quirky, and loud place, but as I walk around with my headphones snapping shots in black and white it feels very serene to me. Walk out my front door with me...

You can keep up on life through my lens over on Tumblr.

Rum Magazine

Hope you all had a great weekend! I am feeling so refreshed after the most peaceful day I've had in who knows how long! I slept in, the windows open with a cool breeze blowing in, went to Farmers Market, relaxed and read a book on the beach, took a nap, and went rollerblading on the boardwalk into the sunset. As I sit here listening to Tegan and Sara and scrolling through Rum Magazine site, the only thing that would make it better is if I was curled up on the couch with...i guess the Rum Magazine in my hand;-) Here's a bit of the deliciousness I'm taking in right now!
Love these chairs! I just used them in this Beat Boxed post!
I need that accordion lamp right now!
Yeah, it's bold. The yellow stool that is.
Where can I get that daybed?

Fall Color Palette

When I saw the flyer the other day that read LABOR DAY, I was like what the hey! I cannot believe summer is on it's way out. My true love lies in fall, so rather than being bummed that summer is passing away I got excited about this fresh start.
This is the color palette I'm obsessing over for this season. The deep dusty teals and grays, mixed with the shimmery golds, glossy blacks, and pops of bold. I'm still loving the rustic elements mixed with the clean sleek lines, but I'm liking things a bit more refined. I'm gradually weaning away from my black and white obsession from last season, but still obsessing over white and gray hardwood floors!

Current Bathroom Remodel: Before + After

I don't share too many of my personal projects on this blog, but this one I couldn't pass up! We are just about finished up with the condo remodel on Wilshire Blvd. and I had to give you sneak peek of the master bathroom. I think it's coming together beautifully! The client wanted a calm clean sanctuary that opened up to the views of the city and he got just that!

The "Seventy" vanity from Idea Group in a matte laquer is perfection and the freestanding tub is perfect for soaking and taking in those city views. The niche above the tub is wrapped in Caesarstone and filled with light and just glows in the night.

The freestanding tub and waterfall spout create a very spa like feel. The flooring is a white Quartz porcelain tile and looks impeccable.

Aquatek countertop with integrated sinks. Seamless.
View from the tub. Now just imagine the city lights. This is a condo on the 16th floor. The perfect niche for all your bubble bath and spa needs. I'm ready to get in please!

The double pocket doors allow the bathroom to be completely open to the master bedroom.

And they can still be closed off for privacy.

BEWARE:
Here are the before pictures! Can you even believe that the client initially wanted to keep the cabinets and maybe even the marble! Eeek!

All materials were purchased through our fabulous design showroom See Materials in West Hollywood. This is a little gem with all of the best materials in LA at incredible prices.

All construction was done through the full service design and construction firm See Construction.

Design Milk: The Beat Boxed 16

Here is my last weeks Beat Boxed post for Design Milk! I am still obsessing over the music of Theophilus London! I even got my mom listening to to it:-)

Were you one of the lucky ones who got to see Theophilus London perform at Hard NYC this past weekend? A couple weekends ago, I stepped into the Purple Lounge at the Standard not knowing what I was about to experience. Next thing I know I’m standing on the couches next to the stage grooving away. I was mesmerized by the performance of Theophilus London. His voice crept inside and soothed me while his beats moved me…literally! I see a lot of live shows and it’s rare that one can unexpectedly captivate me like this. I didn’t even have to hear it to know it…“It’s possible that he’s the arrival of a once-in-a-generation talent: Theophilus London is very much in this moment but not of it,” Hypebeast says. His music is a blend of rap and pop laced with creativity that doesn’t stop and it becomes something for everyone.
It was “This Charming Mixtape” that got him noticed, and it’s the “I Want You” mixtape that I have been obsessively listening to on repeat. I know you’re dying to hear it so go and download it NOW!

Now check out “Humdrum Town,” his first single available on Green Label Sound.

The smooth vibe and sensual groove exude from the walls of this Theophilus London-inspired room. The rhythm of the Flavor Paper dances around like the fans at a show while the facets on the mirror reflect like the shades on his nose. The Tom Dixon couch stands tall and wraps you inside the walls. While the vintage Knoll chairs create a repeat like the strong and seductive beat. The chandelier shines bright and branches out just like London is about to do. This room radiates with confidence and sparkles with glamour and it’s the darkness that makes you stammer. This is the guy’s chill out room, the place to let your ideas go and your rhythm flow.1. Flavor Paper Mirage 2. Modo Chandelier 3. Jannis Kounellis 4. Mirror 5. Warren Platner Chairs 6. So Inspired by Tiffany Porter

Finally feeling at peace after a crazy week last week! Today is a chilled out ponytail and no makeup kinda day! Just taking a quick break from designing, listening to Eclectic 24, obsessing over The Rescues, and drooling over the home of Old Hollywood's shop owner and fashion stylist Tiffany Porter.

the hat installation is crazy cool!

that mirror headboard is kinda sexy.
black doors. love black doors.
This is the color my room would be if it was up to me!

Tiffany if you ever want to beat the heat I'll do an apartment swap in Venice Beach. I have an owl collection too:-)
