*My Birthday Wish*

My birthday is coming up on Saturday and I've been racking my brain trying to make plans! I came across the gorgeous Hotel Azucar on Remodelista and decided this is where I want to be. Since it's located in Veracruz, Mexico you know it's not too far away, I could make it there right? Riiigghhtttt...in my dreams! So even though I cannot actually be here in person, this is where I will be in spirit on my birthday!
now this is sugary white.
if you need to find me i will be in the hammock. the locally made hammock that is.

love the green and white. looks like heaven to me.

a parrot? or is that a parakeet? i'm not that good with the birds.
green glass key holders?! seriously gorgeous.

so simple. so sweet.
love the metal bucket in the shower that is used as a shampoo holder.

Story Hotel

This looks like heaven! Oh but it's not...it's Story Hotel...an amazing design hotel in Stockholm. What a wonderful conversion of an existing structure by the Swedish design team Koncept. The restaurant at Story Hotel just won the European Hotel Design Award for Restaurant Interior Design of the Year! I wish I could go visit for the holidays! 'Tis the season that wishes come true, right?!

The doors of the existing building were reused as headboards...awesome! I love this bathroom! I want my bathroom at home to look just like this!

Love this detail!

Story Hotel has collaborated with Wonderwall, a new kind of art dealer, to fill the walls with gorgeous and one-of-a-kind art.
aww...so pretty!

stunning! I would love to sit and sip my coffee here!

Design Milk: The Beat Boxed 7

This is my favorite The Beat Boxed yet! Check out the entire article on Design Milk today!
A Tribe Called Quest is not only one of my favorite hip-hop groups, but one of the best hip hop groups of all times! Their song “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo” is the perfect follow-up to the “Oh my god I lost my wallet” kind of weekend I just had. For this week's The Beat Boxed I didn't think it fair to "box" in the beats of A Tribe Called Quest, so I decided to create a modern pop-up “kick-it” stop perfect for the Tribe as they continue along their instinctive travels. I was so inspired by how gorgeous the bright patterns and bold colors were as they contrasted with the bright sun and dry desert in this video. You must check it out!

I love this low-lying pleat sofa and it looks like it could almost be the backseat of a vintage 1970’s car. Pop that baby out, unroll your patchwork cowhide rug, scatter around your Moroso cubes from the M’Afrique collection, hang your brass ball pendants, and you are ready to kick it just like A Tribe called Quest did on their way to El Segundo. Oh and don’t forget your sombrero, you’ll need it in that hot desert sun!

Now what better place to kick it than at the Hotel Silken Puerto America in Madrid. I think this room by Mariscal y Salas may have just been designed for A Tribe Called Quest!

A Perfect Getaway!

I am dreaming of a getaway and Ireland has always been on my list of places to go. The gorgeous Bellinter House located just outside Dublin looks like the perfect place. The architecture is breathtaking and the interiors designed by Pierce Tynan are a great mixture of vintage and new while staying true to the style.

EYE CANDY!

This post is simply for fun...it's Friday! I had these images in my inspiration folder forever and I have no information on them. I know they are beautiful, bold, organic, fresh, and absolutely stunning all at the same time.

Not your Standard Sunset

"Sunset Beach is the perfect escape...simple, unspoilted, and unpretentious."-Hip Hotels

This "hip" hotel is one of hotelier Andre Balazs Properties who also was the mastermind behind the "not so standard" Standard Hotels. He transformed this old motel into this simple but chic hotel. It is located on Crescent Beach on the south end of Long Island and offers an amazing getaway from the city. Sunset Beach is a young hip hotel with sunsets so beautiful some say they look like special effects. The restaurant is well known for their French fare and I hear they have some great DJ's that draw in quite the crowd. This isn't a new hotel, but the design is fresh and I love the splashes of color and the bold stripes used throughout. I just feel relaxed looking at the pictures...I'd love a getaway to Sunset Beach.
