Feeling Pink

Happy Friday!  Hope your first week of 2011 was a good one!  I'm kinda freaking out about all these random deaths of black birds, doves, fish, and crabs what about you?!  So for this reason I'm just going to think about pink or something like that cuz it's just so darn innocent and sweet.
Ice skating in the sun, surrounded by flowers, with a goose on your head, now this is life:-)
I need some more pink in my life!  If I had this pink dining table maybe I'd have more dinner parties...Goal for 2011!
A bubble bath with my Tokyo Milk No 02  would be so good in this pink bathroom and in this beautiful clawfoot tub.  As my mom says if this scent was to have a color it would be Light Pink.  Thanks Mom, this was the best gift ever!
Bubble Bath and then breakfast in bed.  Yeah this soft pink room is NICE!  And I know it smells like Tokyo Milk NO 02!

No Problem, I'll Take It!

This private villa by C+L Studio is so serene. I would seriously move in today...well not like that's even an option, but a girl can dream right! It's so minimal, but feels so inviting. A perfect retreat to clear the clutter. The landscape and the outdoor area have me drooling!

The indoor/outdoor feel of the space is perfect! I would be sitting outside on that patio or in the pool enjoying the nature as much as I could!

This is another one of their projects that is still in progress. I cannot wait to see it when it is complete!

Two of a kind!

Here's a fine example of fashion and interiors speaking the same language!

This not so innocent pair may try to fool you with a play on silhouettes and a mix of classic with countryside.

The Fall Collection by Steven Alan is once again a daring approach of unique fits, bold colors, and uncompromising attention to detail. Loving the RED!!!!

It's a Daydreamin' Kind of Day!

What an amazing week it has been here with my family. I feel like the girl in this image, just sitting back, relaxing, taking everything in, and daydreaming about what is and will be!

As I relax I daydream of beautiful places and I think this space is so beautiful in it's simplicity and perfect detail. The teal panels adds such a calming element to the already serene space while the sculptural details of the furniture and the dimensional textures in the objects and art allow your creative juices flow.

Inspired by Nature!

Today I am sharing with you some inspiration boards I put together for a client in Los Angeles. They are expecting their 3rd child in August, they own a showroom in West Hollywood, and their favorite place to be is their home. They are located high up in the Hills have an incredible view overlooking the canyon, a gorgeous yard, and this is their escape from all the hustle and bustle of the city and their everyday lives. Their home should be their sanctuary and a place for them to relax and enjoy time with their beautiful family. The outdoors is such an amazing part of their space so we wanted to bring those organic elements inside to create a seamless connection of the two. Playful pops of color, fumed white oak flooring, light walls, natural walnut, and a neutral pallette of grays, whites, greens, and camel will keep this space open and alive!

FASHION AND DESIGN TELL THE STORY

Last year I fell in love with the photography and fashion from fashion designer Bea Szenfeld and her fashion team. The colors and compositions create such a powerful mood while mainting that calmness and refined boldness that is so hard to achieve. My client's sense of style is always a huge inspiration for their interiors. If I was to design an interior for Bea Szenfeld's Autumn Winter 08/09 fashion line it would look like these gorgeous interiors from Studio Isle taken by photographer Lisa Cohen. I'm going to let the pictures tell the rest of the story and let them take you on an adventure of your own.

I've been obsessed with this brass pendant light (model Bumling, by Anders Pehrson for Atelje Lyktan of Sweden). I discovered it at the Floor-Model warehouse as I was shopping for another project in Spring of 2008. David pulled it off the top shelf of the warehouse for me and I fell in love. I didn't ever end up using it, but it looks absolutely gorgeous in this kitchen...especially with the brass hardware!

PURE H.O.M.E.

I found this beautiful images from a spread over @ H.O.M.E. I cannot read the article, but the images say alot! The white floors and walls with the rustic wood ceiling create such a soothing feel. I love the mix of furnishings and chairs. The island detail and positioning is a great use of space. I can just hear that piano playing as the owners gently float through their space. Beautiful!
