Feeling Pink

Happy Friday!  Hope your first week of 2011 was a good one!  I'm kinda freaking out about all these random deaths of black birds, doves, fish, and crabs what about you?!  So for this reason I'm just going to think about pink or something like that cuz it's just so darn innocent and sweet. 

Ice skating in the sun, surrounded by flowers, with a goose on your head, now this is life:-)

I need some more pink in my life!  If I had this pink dining table maybe I'd have more dinner parties...Goal for 2011!

A bubble bath with my Tokyo Milk No 02  would be so good in this pink bathroom and in this beautiful clawfoot tub.  As my mom says if this scent was to have a color it would be Light Pink.  Thanks Mom, this was the best gift ever!

 

Bubble Bath and then breakfast in bed.  Yeah this soft pink room is NICE!  And I know it smells like Tokyo Milk NO 02!

Current Bathroom Remodel: Before + After

I don't share too many of my personal projects on this blog, but this one I couldn't pass up! We are just about finished up with the condo remodel on Wilshire Blvd. and I had to give you sneak peek of the master bathroom. I think it's coming together beautifully! The client wanted a calm clean sanctuary that opened up to the views of the city and he got just that!

The "Seventy" vanity from Idea Group in a matte laquer is perfection and the freestanding tub is perfect for soaking and taking in those city views. The niche above the tub is wrapped in Caesarstone and filled with light and just glows in the night.


The freestanding tub and waterfall spout create a very spa like feel. The flooring is a white Quartz porcelain tile and looks impeccable.

View from the tub. Now just imagine the city lights. This is a condo on the 16th floor.The perfect niche for all your bubble bath and spa needs. I'm ready to get in please!

The double pocket doors allow the bathroom to be completely open to the master bedroom.

And they can still be closed off for privacy.

Here are the before pictures! Can you even believe that the client initially wanted to keep the cabinets and maybe even the marble! Eeek!

Jill Stuart's Dreamy Home!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was short, but super sweet! I actually had some time to relax on Sunday, get some cleaning done, spend some time at the beach, go rollerblading, go out on a beautiful date with my fiance, and still get some work done! It felt so good to clean up my apartment a bit and as much as I love my space I am dying to make some changes to it. As I was cleaning I came across this issue of Elle Decor featuring the home of of fashion designer Jill Stuart and started to daydream! I just love the crispness and freshness of this apartment with the use of bold artwork and sophisticated details. Her place has a soft feminine touch without being too cutesy or trendy! I love it!

A Barcelona Beauty

How could you even possibly think of passing up such a beautiful historical apartment in Barcelona. Well when you have a baby on the way and there's a possibility of being evicted due to redevelopment you might question it! Well question it they did, but Cecilia Tham and Yoel Karaso of Habitan Architects fell in love with the original ornate molding and stunning tile work and they figured out how to make it work. The design of the kitchen and bathroom were created more furniture like and not fitted into any walls, so in case this upheaval happened, they would be able to take all their valuable elements with them. Such a genius idea!

I bet the acoustics in this place are crazy! Look at the height of those doors and that gorgeous ceiling...WOW!

Oh my goodness! I am obsessed with that tile! And those light filled windows with the blue shutters are incredible! I hope they never have to leave!

I love all these raw elements and I'm going to say it one last time...I'm obssessed with the tile:-)

Way Too Cool!

This blue Sartoriale bathtub by Antonio Lupi is gorgeous. I'm seeing blue pop up a lot in kitchens and baths and I'm really digging it! The color and design would work great in any modern or eclectic home. This assymetrical tub is made of cristaplant and it has that ultrasmooth texture and seamless finish. Again, what a sculptural piece!

Just Relax!

I'm a little stressed about moving this week and during the holiday weekend, so I'm just going to imagine myself here!

I'm sad to be leaving our quaint little Venice bungalow, but we are moving into a place with some gorgeous views! I'll be sure to post some pics once we get settled!

PRODUCT ALERT @ GNR8

108 Time Box is a calendar in a box that flows for 108 months. It starts in 2006 and will track your time until 2015. You only have a few years left...you think it's worth the $25.00? What a fabulous idea! And the type and design is unique for each month! You can get this over at one of my favorite sites GNR8 and also check out some of the other fabulous designs from Taiwanese designer Owen & Cloud.





While searching on GNR8 I fell in love with AQHayon bathtub by Jamie Hayon! It's a little pricey @ $7500.00, but it got my wheels turning thinking you could probably custom make a tub deck like this for a standard undermount tub. Hmmm...the tub and legs might not be as sleek & pretty, but I'm sure you could create this look for less. Now that's a challenge.

DREAMIN' OF BATHROOMS

I still love this inspiration board I put together last summer for the Amy Butler contest on Decor8. I didn't even come close to winning, but I am still waiting for the client to come along who falls in love and then we can both be winners! I just love the use of the pebble flooring, the wood ceiling, the trough sink and the freestanding tub. Click here for a link to the description of all materials. What better way to get the kiddos in the bath than to bring the outdoors in. This is such a playful bathroom, perfect for getting your little boy to clean up. You actually may not be able to get him out of here.

I absolutely love this bathroom featured in Metropolitan Home. I think the mix of the rustic stone, the clean lines on the integrated sink, the sleek wall mounted fixture, and the niche modern pendant light make for a stunning bathroom. It reminds me of something I would walk into in Rome and you gotta love Rome.
