Home Office Makeover...it's time!

Really, it's almost March?! Wow this year is flying by and has been crazy busy! Work, work, work! It's way past time for me to makeover my home office {area} into a much more functional and organized space! I've been saying for about the past 9 months that I am going to put shelves up above the desk. So far, it hasn't happened, but today I started going through my office inspiration folder...and here's what I found! Check out these gorgeous home offices!

This is pretty much what my office would look like if I added shelves and got a cat!

And this is kinda what it looks like now, minus the cool chairs, cool art, and unicycle. But everything is sitting on my long white desk and I'm dying to get it off!
Love this artwork, but the desk might be a little small for me!
Shelves and color...thumbs up to both.
Organized clutter. I think I could manage this!
I'm drooling over everything in this office...well except the tufted leather ottoman.
Gorgeous. Love the lamp!
Perfect.
The detail on the shelving is great! And the dark grey painted floors...NICE!

I would love to have this large of a work station, all that shelving, and that gorgeous light!

Seriously my dream office/den!

So sweet.

I could definitely see myself working here. love the black vintage desk and the wallpaper. It seems so cozy.

I'd feel pretty special sitting in this seat. Don't know if my organized clutter would work so well here.

Superb. I might want a different chair.
I can smell the salt water and feel the ocean breeze from here. Who wouldn't want this to be their home office!

psst...sorry i do not have any sources for these photos. if you know where they are from please do let me know!

It's Just Right!

I stumbled upon the work of New York based Sara Story Design and loved what I found! She did such an incredible job on this Gramercy Park Project. I love the boldness of colors and patterns and the clever use of space. We all know these New York apartments can be small, so you better use your space wisely, and this is exactly what Sara Story has done!
This kitchen is fabulous! Check out that patterned floor (which by the way is handpainted/airbrushed), the deep purple ceiling and those cabinets that are just the perfect shade of gray! I love the use of black in this space.

That chandelier is stunning! I think the partition wall is an amazing feature. The room still feels so bright and open while the wall breaks up the space. Do you think that bedroom is the old living room? Also check out that wallpaper...so fun! It also looks like the cabinets are built into the wall. Again such a clever solution.
That red is killer...and I mean it in the best way! What an adorable little bathroom. This kid must have a great view. What a fablulous use of space built in around and under the bed.

Jaw Dropping!

This desk is drop dead gorgeous! The carbon framework of the Hexa Desk allows it to be super strong AND super light. Perfect for the executive who wants to pick up his desk and throw it across the room:-))) The Turkish designers over at Can Yalman designed this masterpiece for Nurus and it will be available in September of 2009.

It doesn't stop at the Hexa Desk with Cal Yalman Design! They have created some absolutely amazing ceramics!
These gold and black tiles from the ceramic collection OrienTile are incredible. I would love to see these used in a funky cafe!

Another great design for the OrientTile Collection!

So cool...oh the possibilities!

Funkidelic...that's what these are:-) Love these tiles from the RepTile collection! These tiles were designed for Kale Seramik and received honors in ID Magazine!

Texture and Reflection!

The CrocoTile is such an innovative approach to the crocodile tile.

Just a Pinch to Grow an Inch...

This Wave Sideboard from Pinch is not just a piece of furniture...it's an award winning piece of furniture! This is the sideboard from the stunning loft space on my "Just ONE Room" post. Isn't it just lovely! It is also available in Oak and Walnut.

I have a little thing for writing desks and I absolutely love this one, the Yves Writing Desk from Pinch. The slender legs, the green leather top, the beautiful walnut, what more could a girl ask for:-) The fabric on this PENDEL 2 SEAT SOFA just makes me happy. I also love the thought behind this sofa "designed to make sense of compact space" Once again a gorgeous shape.

Have you been searching for that perfect piece? Look no further! This ARMOIRE is it... and some. When I say "and some" I mean pretty much whatever you want it to mean. Wine cabinet, mini bar, closet, media storage, green, white, short, tall, you name it they'll make it.

I know I've commented on a few of these pieces on some other lovely blogs out there. I just saw a post over at Black White and Yellow that inspired this post tonight.
