Rebe: Eco Friendly Designs

I'm still stuck on Unique LA and all the things I left with and without! I picked up the most adorable jacket for my baby nephew from Rebe, an eco-friendly designer with an amazing collection. I was in her booth forever and I really could have filled my closet with her entire collection! I wanted to buy for everyone, but little Drake is the lucky one, and he won't even know it. I think he's going to be getting all the ladies in is fabulous new jacket...and he's only 6 months:-) Here's a peek at the collection!

She had a great collection of skirts that looked so comfy! I would love to throw one on now! And how adorable is that jacket?!

Loving this jacket in the Fall 2009 Collection

This is the best little wrap around pocket bag! It fits so snuggly to the body and has a great pocket so you can easily access things when your hands are full. Stylish and convenient. This is the perfect gift for a new mother when she's carrying around her baby she doesn't have to deal with searching through her purse or rummaging through the diaper bag to find the binky or the rattle!

It's all too cute. The organic dolls are absolutely adorable!

Love this Matilde Diaper Sac!

2009 Wishlist

My wishlist went up on Design Milk today and I'm so excited to share it with you!

It's finally starting to feel like Christmas here in LA! We got a big rain yesterday...it was a cold and miserable day, but today is just beautiful. It is very cool without a cloud in the sky. Because of this I could see the gorgeous snow capped mountains on my way to work this morning. There were at least two accidents on the freeway this morning, nothing major, but I think they were caused by everyone gazing off into the distance looking at how pretty the snow was! There are some big snowstorms about to hit the Midwest and my family in Iowa in particular, so I am hoping they enjoy the snow and everyone stays safe and warm!

Just because it’s beautiful, do I really need a better reason?! Oh and because I’m obsessed with lighting!

3. Mushroom Nos Da Blanket at Gretel
I love a super soft blanket and I love pattern! Also don’t know if my tiny radiator is going to keep me warm this winter.

4. Nomadic Wonderland by Eunsuk Hur
This will look absolutely gorgeous with my new sofa…wink wink. The fact that it’s an interchangeable modular system that I can transform is amazing!

5. Joie Refugee Lace Up Boot from Shopbop
I can’t bear to part with my perfectly worn in boots I’ve had for years, but I think it’s time. These boots may be just what it takes to make me forget about them! The perfect mix of combat and riding boot…gorgeous!

Ellis Faas: Inspired by Nature

Oh I just love this home of the lovely Ellis Faas, the most influential makeup artist of today! The interior is stunning and I think really portrays Ellis is such a real way. The home is a little bohemian, with a mix of luxurious accents presented in the most gorgeous of ways. The interior palette must have been inspired by her new collection Ellis Faas Human Colours which looked to the human palette for inspiration. It's about going back to nature without having to appear natural.

Design Milk: The Beat Boxed 8

I am in love with the album XX the debut album from The XX. The intimacy of the soft and smoky duets make you feel like you’re floating on a cloud in the sky. All you need to do is lay back and let the sweet melody seep into your ears.

This interior reflects the music through its minimal decoration, exposed intimate details, and softness and freeness of form in a structure so sound.

Still Thankful For This Day!

Ok let me pick up where I left off! On Thanksgiving I volunteered for Feed the Beach in Venice and what an amazing day it was. Venice has such a great sense of community and this day proved it once again. The food was amazing and the energy was amazing! Check it out... live music, sushi, turkeys, sunshine, and smiles, so much to be thankful for! It was an absolutely beautiful day and I was proud to be part of it! They had enough people to serve so I brought drinks and desserts and chatted with some of the locals + volunteers wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. There was a lady that came and set up a table to give out clothes, so I gladly ran a couple bags down to her. The items were gone before I could even get them out of the bag, so I ran up to get more, and then even more! I was so excited that these clothes that have been sitting around taking up space got new homes. You should've seen the smiles on peoples faces! Thanks so much to the Fruit Gallery for putting on such an amazing event and all the wonderful volunteers for making it happen! Here are some photos I took from my fire escape!

Fall Foliage

I am really excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow! I am going to be volunteering at Feed The Beach in Venice, so if any of you readers are in the area you should definitely stop by and bring some goodies, but first call The Fruit Gallery (310-452-3034) to see if they need help with anything in particular! I overheard some of those that live down on the beach talking this morning about how excited they were for tomorrow. Just the thought that the underprivileged will have a wonderful meal, a full belly, a most of all that the community is coming together brings a huge smile to my face!

Story Hotel

This looks like heaven! Oh but it's not...it's Story Hotel...an amazing design hotel in Stockholm. What a wonderful conversion of an existing structure by the Swedish design team Koncept. The restaurant at Story Hotel just won the European Hotel Design Award for Restaurant Interior Design of the Year! I wish I could go visit for the holidays! 'Tis the season that wishes come true, right?!

The doors of the existing building were reused as headboards...awesome! I love this bathroom! I want my bathroom at home to look just like this!

Love this detail!

Story Hotel has collaborated with Wonderwall, a new kind of art dealer, to fill the walls with gorgeous and one-of-a-kind art.
aww...so pretty!

stunning! I would love to sit and sip my coffee here!

Kitchen Designs that Rock!

I just love these gorgeous kitchens by the Australian design team Doherty Lynch. They are committed to finding creative solutions and delivering high quality design and these projects do just that. These examples of the kitchens exemplify creative solutions in details, layout, and materials I am going nuts over their use of wallpaper in the kitchen. I'm not sure how practical this is, but I wonder if you could pull it off on the backsplash by covering it glass?

I think the wallpaper behind open shelves and the work area in the kitchen is a wonderful idea!

I am also a huge fan of the simplicity of using the same countertop material as the backsplash. I love how clean and seamless this looks.
Now this is a gorgeous combination. If you're going for a wall with no upper cabinets I think it's a great idea to use a material that makes a statement. This procelain tile mimics a patina(d) metal and looks so good with those copper lights! I would love to see that island with stools!
